“As Sheriff of Onslow County, I am pleased to offer my endorsement and support for the work of Hope Mission of Coastal Carolina (HMCC).
Substance use disorders continue to affect individuals, families, and communities across North Carolina, including here in Onslow County.
The services provided by HMCC are making a meaningful impact in addressing this crisis. Their nonprofit, faith-based approach not only focuses on recovery from addiction through six-month to one-year residential programs, but also emphasizes the emotional and psychological well-being of participants through professional clinical services, including individual and group therapy led by licensed clinicians.
Beyond recovery services, HMCC demonstrates a true commitment to community care. Their daily lunch program ensures that no one in need goes hungry, while the Meals on Wheels initiative provides nourishment and support for homebound and disabled adults. On average, 250 meals are served Monday through Saturday. In addition, the organization extends assistance to individuals facing homelessness or financial crisis, ensuring that critical support is available when it is needed most. It is also noteworthy that HMCC’s outreach has extended to individuals from 40 counties across North Carolina and even beyond state lines. This speaks not only to the effectiveness of their programs but also to the reputation they have earned as a trusted resource for those seeking recovery and hope.
I commend the dedicated staff, volunteers, and supporters of Hope Mission of Coastal Carolina for their tireless work in meeting both the immediate and long-term needs of our communities. Their mission aligns with the values of public service, compassion, and commitment to the well-being of others.
For these reasons, I wholeheartedly endorse HMCC and encourage continued support of their efforts. Together, we can create pathways to recovery, restore lives, and strengthen the communities we serve.”
