Many of us look back on 2018 and pray that 2019 will not be a year like we have just come through. Many have lost so much and are struggling with the feeling of insecurity for today. Rebuilding after the storms is not an easy thing to do. However, if we base our faith on our feelings, our faith will not survive the tough times, like we have just come through. Noah, who walked with God, was exposed to the greatest flood the world has ever experienced, yet he faced it with peace (see Genesis 6-8). He could easily have been traumatized by a flood that destroyed everything except for those inside the ark. Instead, he possessed a peace that passes all understanding; a peace that enabled him to keep his sanity during the storm and the rebuilding afterwards; a peace that rested on his faith in God.
